Tails of New York Video Slot Review

During a recent visit to Atlantis Gold, a casino that uses BetOnSoft technology and offers an expansive suite of video slots, blackjack, table games, roulette and keno, I had the opportunity to try out a new video slot, called Tails of New York Video Slot. Playing this exciting new video slot turned out to be lots of fun!

As a native New Yorker who misses home, I found it funny to see that the game features “claymation” type animals as the primary game symbols, including a Statue of Liberty with the face of an eagle, a few crazy looking dogs, a cat, and a squirrel scatter. There is also a truck, a newspaper, a take-out coffee cup, and for those of you with a sense of humor, the police officer was represented by a pig. All kidding aside! The theme of the game revolves around Buddy the dog, a reporter searching for the scoop of a lifetime in New York City. Tails of New York Video Slot is a video slot with 40 pay lines, and a minimum bet of .40 cents.  The max bet for the game is set at $100.00 per spin.  Buddy the dog is the wild symbol, and he can appear randomly and turn any symbol on the pay line into a wild symbol for that spin.  Go Buddy!  I just love dogs!

When three or more taxi driving squirrel symbols appear anywhere on the pay line, the free spin feature is triggered.  Three squirrels will result in five spins with a multiplier of five times the bet, four squirrels result in seven spins at seven times the bet, and five squirrels result in nine spins at nine times the bet.  The multipliers for the free spins feature appear to be very generous, indeed.  Free spins can be retriggered, which is also a nice feature for any video slot.

Tails of New York  has another cool feature, the “Chow’s Run” game, which occurs when three or more Chow’s Van symbols appear anywhere on the pay lines.  During this bonus round, a new screen opens, and the player gets to choose from several “stolen” items, with each item representing a cash prize.  Fortunately, I did get to play this feature, but I experienced a bit of a glitch.  My bet was set at .80 cents, and I only won a total of $10.40. The screen revealed the dollar amounts for the other prizes, and many were valued at amounts as high as $30.00, and although I was able to choose three prizes, I had a problem with clicking on items.  When I clicked, nothing happened, and I had to click on several different items for any of them to show the hidden prize.  I’m not sure if this was due to the casino’s technology, or my own computer, but I was disappointed when I saw how much I could have won.  Interestingly, on the same bet, I also won free spins that paid out $10.60, so although it wasn’t exactly “my day,” I did enjoy the games unique features and high quality graphics.  Also, I would like to mention that the payouts appeared to be better at .80 cents than they were when I was betting at $1.20 per spin.

Although the graphics were very high-tech, the audio was not up to par and therefore I chose to mute the sound, which is usual for me and I’m starting to think that I’m just a cranky person, because nobody else seems to ever complain about the audio.

Finally, a disclaimer: like any casino or slot review, this is all just my opinion based on my own personal experience, so please don’t take my word for it, but give the game a try on your own!  If you do get a chance to play “Tails of New York,” I wish you a fun time and lot’s of luck!
